Football Tasmania is thrilled to announce that Alfred Hess has been appointed as Football Development Officer for the South, to drive the Football Tasmania – Football Australia Academy and Talent Support Program (TSP) in the region.
Hess joins us from Kingborough Lions United FC, where he was Youth Technical Director for three years and NPL Head Coach for the past two seasons.
Technical Director Alan Eadie welcomed Hess, saying his experience at Kingborough stood him in excellent stead to work with talented young players involved in Football Tasmania’s elite programs. This includes the brand-new Football Tasmania – Football Australia academy, which will launch next month.
“We welcome Alfred and we look forward to the energy and enthusiasm he will bring to our programs, which he’s demonstrated very clearly during his time at Kingborough,” he said.
“We have a robust TSP program of 250 players State-wide - including around 120 players in the South - and with our new Academy coming online next month, we will be expanding the number of players we have in these elite programs.
“We can’t wait to get started, and we know Alfred will be a huge asset to these programs.”
Hess said he was looking forward to beginning his new role in the coming weeks.
“I’m excited to be starting this new role with Football Tasmania and am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of players in the South,” Hess said.
