Lions Win High Scoring Battle of Franklin
The Kingborough Lions claimed the Battle of Franklin, shading a 7-goal contest 4-3 over the Clarence Zebras. The goals flowed in the opening half hour, with the Lions twice scoring equalisers within 2 minutes of conceding, before taking a 3-2 lead into the half time break. Alfred Hess extended the Lions' advantage midway through the second half, which would prove enough to secure the three points, despite a late Jayden Hey goal offering the Zebras a lifeline. The match was used to help raise funds and awareness for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia with teams playing for the Battle of Franklin Cup.

The Devonport Strikers produced one of their strongest performances of the season, as they downed Launceston City 4-1 at Valley Road. Four different goalscorers found the back of the net as the Strikers picked apart the City defence to keep up the pressure on the leading pair of Knights and South Hobart, sitting 2 points off top spot and still unbeaten in the league this year.

No Cup Hangover For Knights
The Glenorchy Knights showed no signs of a Lakoseljac Cup hangover, getting right back to business in the league and scoring a thumping 7-1 win over Riverside Olympic. It took the Knights some 42 minutes to find a breakthrough, but once they opened the scoring they never looked back, scoring regularly throughout the second half and overwhelming the Roos' defence in a dominant performance.
