McDonald’s NPL Tasmania Round 4

Points Shared In Top of the Table Clash

In the biggest game of the season to date, the spoils were shared between the Glenorchy Knights and South Hobart, as they played out a tightly contested 1-1 draw. The Knights squandered some decent scoring chances to take the lead and when Nick Morton converted from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute it appeared like it might cost them. But Riley Dillon came to his side's rescue with his late equaliser in the 88th minute earning a point that keeps the Knights on top of the table.

Final Score

South Hobart 1 (N.Morton 72’)

Glenorchy Knights 1 (R.Dillon 88’)

Strikers Set Piece Prowess Downs Riverside

The Devonport Strikers took advantage of the draw between Knights and South to draw level with them on points by downing Riverside 5-1. The Strikers did the bulk of the damage from set pieces, terrorising the Riverside defence from corners and scoring their first 4 goals via that avenue. Zac Reissig bagged a late consolation goal but for now the Roos remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Final Score

Riverside Olympic 1 (Z.Reissig 88’)

Devonport Strikers 5 (C.Bidwell 45+3’, T.Barton 12’ 52’, B.Denehey 57’, R.Ichimura 80’)
