Stalemate at the Den

The Kingborough Lions frustrated the Devonport Strikers and held them to a 0-0 draw in a stalemate at Lightwood Park. The Strikers certainly had their opportunities to take all three points, with Riku Ichimura firing wide from the penalty spot in the first half, whilst a host of other scoring chances went begging. Masatoshi Kawano was rock solid in net for the Lions as they held the Champions at bay and earned a point that sees them remain in fourth spot.

Final Score

Kingborough Lions 0

Devonport Strikers 0

Wasteful Knights Hold Off Zebras

The Glenorchy Knights remain in top spot following a 2-1 win over the Clarence Zebras at Wentworth Park. Knights were in control for the majority of the contest and probably should've led by more than the 2-0 lead they enjoyed when Kyle Vincent halved the lead five minutes from stoppage time. The Knights wouldn't slip up at the back again however and banked the three points to remain the league leaders ahead of a big game next week against the Strikers.

Final Score

Clarence Zebras 1 (K.Vincent 83')

Glenorchy Knights 2 (S.Cordwell 33', M.Brkic 38')
