Baez Strikes Late As South Sneak Past Knights
South Hobart left it late, but eventually overcame the Glenorchy Knights thanks to a last-gasp goal from Graciella Baez. With time running out, it appeared Millie Baric had snared a point for the Knights when her back-post tap-in cancelled out Pishon Choi's headed opener. But a late set piece was bundled home in the 93rd minute by Baez saw the Knights denied a point right at the death. Given South won the first fixture between the pair 10-0 it shows the Strides Knights are making, but they will feel hard done by not to have taken points away from this match.

At Birch Avenue, it was the Hollie Jones show, as the young striker scored five times, including a remarkable hat-trick inside the opening ten minutes as United jumped the visitors to explode out of the starting blocks. It was 5-0 after just 23 minutes of play and would've ended an even heavier victory than the 6-0 it finished, if not for several top-drawer saves from Izzy Ottavi in the Pirates net.
