McDonald’s Women's Super League Round 19
Strikers Reinforce Their Dominance
The Devonport Strikers underlined their superiority in 2024 by hammering second-placed South Hobart 6-1 at D'arcy Street. Led by yet another dominant display by the brilliant Whitney Knight, the Strikers did the damage in the first half, racing to a 5-0 lead by the half time break. Knight scored four of those goals in another best-afield display as once again the Strikers proved too much for last season's champions to handle. Sophie Westwood conjured a nice consolation goal for the hosts late on, but it was Devonport's day as they continued on with their season of dominance. They are now just two weeks away from replicating South Hobart's feat from last season and posting an undefeated campaign.
Final Score
South Hobart 1 (S.Westwood 89’)
Devonport 6 (L.Foote 11’, W.Knight 13’ 18’ 39’ 45’, K.Harvey 66’)
