Smith Doubles Down Knights

A pair of braces from Olivia and Lucy Smith helped fire Launceston United to a 4-2 road win over the Glenorchy Knights at KGV as they bounced back from Cup disappointment the week prior. In an open and attacking affair, Olivia Smith had the visitors ahead with the first chance of the match but the lead lasted just 20 minutes as Megan Goscombe ensured the game was locked at 1-1 at half time. Lucy Smith then scored twice in the space of five minutes early in the second half to provide some breathing room, before Olivia extended the lead to 4-1. Jemima Brown pulled one back for the Knights, but it was merely a consolation marker as United returned North with the points.

Final Score

Glenorchy Knights 2 (M.Goscombe 26’, J.Brown 89’)

Launceston United 4 (O.Smith 4’ 72’, L.Smith 49’ 55’)
