Tassie shines on day one at National Futsal Championships 2025

Day one of the 2025 National Futsal Championships in Melbourne - Wednesday, 8 January - is in the books, and what a spectacular day of futsal it was.

The State Netball and Hockey Centre was buzzing from the moment the gates were opened at 7:30am, with over 3,000 players, family members and fans in attendance across the day cheering on the best players from around the country.

One of the games of the day was played on pitch one, where Football Tasmania's Under 16 boys team drew 2-2 with Football NSW Thunder. Goals to Kaleb Moore and team captain Bailey Johnson.

The defensive efforts of Archie Maundrill (pictured) drew mention from organisers, for throwing himself into every contest of the thrilling match.

It was a tough day for the Under 12s, who went down valiantly to NSW Thunder and Capital. The Under 14s play their first match today, Thursday 9 January.
