Glen was a founding member and President of South East United Football Club in Sorell. He was instrumental in helping to form the community club 13 years ago to give local players a home.
His love of football stretched across much of his life. Glen played for New Norfolk Soccer Club, Metro Football Club, Glenorchy Knights and Clarence Zebras FC before later becoming involved with Dodges Ferry Soccer Club, where he served on the committee and coached.
It was at South East United FC that Glen made his greatest contribution to the game. As a founding member, he was a player, coach, mentor and held numerous committee positions over the years. More than that, he was a friend to everyone who came through the club.
Glen had an enormous impact on the community and worked tirelessly for the club, treating it like family, and was involved in every aspect of the club from coaching to administration.
He lived and breathed football and never sought acknowledgement or credit.
Glen’s greatest football achievement was securing South East United’s licence to compete in the 2026 National Premier League. Although Glen passed away in January 2026 before the club’s first NPL game, his influence and legacy were very much a part of that historic season. The team did him proud, avoiding relegation by finishing seventh in their maiden campaign.
Today, his family continue his legacy, with his wife Jo currently serving as club President.
