Mandy is widely regarded as one of the founding women of football in Northern Tasmania.
Joining the club in 1984 at just 19, she went on to play almost 500 games across three decades, at a time when women's football lacked the visibility, structure and support of today.
A highly versatile player, Mandy captained and vice-captained the club, represented her State, and was central to one of the most dominant periods in the club's history, the undefeated 2005/2007 seasons.
Beyond her playing record, Mandy's contribution to the club and to the broader football community has been foundational and enduring. She helped normalise women's participation in the game at a time when that was neither easy nor guaranteed, mentored younger players in the latter stages of her career, and remains a quiet, generous presence within the club community she helped build.
In recognition of her contribution, Launceston City FC named its Women's Super League Best and Fairest award in Mandy’s honour - a lasting tribute to the standard of fairness, consistency, resilience and team-first spirit she brought to the game.
