Celebrating our award winners and Hall of Fame

Football Tasmania celebrated its annual End of Season Awards Night yesterday (Saturday, 13 September 2025) at Wrest Point in Hobart, awarding its highest honours for its seven most senior leagues and inducting eleven inaugural members into its long-awaited Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame has been established to honour, preserve, and celebrate the achievements and legacy of Tasmanian football through recognition of its key contributors.

Football Tasmania Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata said: “The Hall of Fame recognises players, coaches, referees, administrators, media, and contributors who have made an enduring impact on football in Tasmania, because their legacies have helped shape the game we all love.

“We were thrilled with the response from our football community, and it was a privilege to induct some of the most recognisable names in our game at the dinner last night.

“We know there’s plenty of other people who have gone above and beyond in service to football in our State, and we look forward to adding to the list each year.”

Champions’ trophies and pennants, along with key honours, were also presented for the McDonald’s® NPL Tasmania, McDonald’s Women’s Super League and NPL Under 21s, and the Kappa Northern and Southern men’s and women’s championships for season 2025.

The top honours for Best and Fairest went to Devonport City Strikers’s Asuka Doi (WSL), and Jarrah Moore (Under 21s). The NPL featured a three-way tie between Launceston City’s Angus Taylor, and South Hobart’s Kobe Kemp and Nick Morton (NPL). Full list of award recipients below.

Mr Pignata congratulated all players and award winners for their commitment to the game in season 2025.

“Last night was an opportunity for all of these leagues to come together - along with special guests and friends - to celebrate another huge season and to acknowledge the achievements of our standout players and teams.

“I’d like to thank our partners, McDonald’s and Kappa; club presidents and committees; and our many dedicated coaches, referees and volunteers, for making the season possible.”

The regular season for these leagues finished on 6 September, with the ladder leaders in each competition named the 2025 Champions.

South Hobart took out the McDonald’s NPL for the first time in eight years, earning them a place in Football Australia’s new Australian Championships to kick off next month; Devonport City Strikers won the McDonald’s Women’s Super League and the men’s Under 21s for the second year running.
