Launceston City FC have announced the appointment of Roger Hardwicke as their new head coach of their NPL TAS side for season 2020.
Hardwicke will replace Lino Sciulli who retired from the caper at the conclusion of the 2019 season and will be tasked with trying to lift the side back up the table after a 7th placed finish.
Hardwicke comes to the club from Queensland where the majority of his playing and coaching career has been based on the Sunshine Coast. He won multiple premierships as a player before moving into coaching and has gained over a decade of coaching experience. He currently holds an AFC B Licence coaching qualification.
He had a successful tenure with the Kawana Football Club, transitioning the club from mid-table
back to a title contender and winning the league in 2012. He most recently coached the Sunshine Coast Fire in the NPL QLD competition.
Launceston City President Danny Linger said he was excited to announce the appointment and was confident he was the right man for the job.
"Roger has developed a sound football philosophy that has been successfully applied at all the clubs he has been
associated with.
We welcome Roger into our football family and look forward to season 2020 as our preparations begin in
earnest.
We are confident Roger and his family will not only feel welcome at Launceston City but embrace our beautiful state and relaxed lifestyle for years to come."
