Female Football season wrap

Dear Football Family I would like to start my wrap up of the season in female football land by extending my gratitude to everyone who has played, coached, managed, volunteered, refereed, supported, sponsored, and administrated in our football family. Without your continued support and engagement we could not have succeeded and we could not have created great achievements in a most challenging time. With a short rest before pre-season, we can plan our 2021 season and what actions and achievements we would like to see. Women’s Super League 2021 will have a new look and potentially new teams to be added to the competition. Medical Support will be a focus and I will endeavour to have plans ready for 2021 season that supports clubs in this area. Medical Emergency plans will also be available for clubs to help in medical emergency situations. Respect of Inclusion and Diversity LGBTQAI+ policies and guidelines will be available to support clubs and community. Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community will be supported and short courses provided by the Migrant Resource Centre to help clubs engage with CALD youth. An exciting new national program for females called Kick On will be rolled out across the state. For females with reduced mobility and over the age of 55 we will be having Walking Football games available. Focus on female only referee courses and coaching courses. Continued support of females in primary school to transition from association football to club football. Retention strategy for teenage girls. National Rebel Female Football Week 2021 will have a theme called Visibility. Many thanks to Optus for their support of Women's Football in 2020. I look forward to working with you all for the remainder of 2020 and 2021! Yours In Sport Debra Banks Women's Development Officer, Football Tasmania
