Football Tasmania has today released the fixtures for the 2026 McDonald’s National Premier Leagues (NPL) Tasmania, and the McDonald’s Women’s Super League (WSL) - its top flight men’s and women’s Statewide leagues - and the NPL Under 21s.
The McDonald’s NPL will feature ten teams next year - Clarence Zebras, Glenorchy Knights, Kingborough Lions, South Hobart, Riverside Olympic, Devonport City Strikers, Launceston City, Launceston United and newcomers Ulverstone and South East United.
The men’s season will begin on 6 March and feature 18 rounds, followed by a finals series for the top five placed teams. The bottom two finishers after the 18 rounds will be relegated and only eight teams will contest Season 2027.
The McDonald’s WSL will feature eight teams – Launceston United, Kingborough Lions, South Hobart, Devonport City Strikers, Taroona, Glenorchy Knights, Riverside Olympic and Launceston City, who return to this league in 2026. They will play 21 rounds, beginning 13 March.
Football Tasmania CEO Tony Pignata said: “We’re thrilled to welcome three additional sides to our top leagues in 2026, which we know will add an extra layer of interest for both competitions.
“The ten NPL sides will compete for eight places in 2027, so every match matters.
“We wish all teams the best of luck for the season ahead and look forward to getting underway in March.”
