TWENTY-FOUR players, coaches, managers and administrators from football clubs across the State will make up the inaugural cohort for Football Tasmania’s new Future Leaders’ program.
The program aims to create and develop future leaders in football who are diverse in gender, location, background and experience.
Football Tasmania CEO Matt Bulkeley said he was thrilled with the response to the call for applications, and looked forward to meeting participants at the first session in late May.
“We know there’s lots of great people out there in our clubs and associations already who are taking on leadership roles, officially or otherwise - most of whom are volunteers and devote time and energy to making their teams and clubs a success.
“This course will upskill the participants with foundational leadership skills to ensure they’re well-equipped and confident to assume these kinds of positions, and we hope that they find it a valuable experience.
“We hope to offer additional intakes in the future.”
The course will include one session each month until March 2024, and include a range of topics such as governance, finance, communication and strategy.
The program is supported by MyState Bank and the State Government. You can read more about it here: Future Leaders’ Program | Football Tasmania (footballfedtas.com.au)
