Football Tasmania welcomes Cardigan Street funding

Football Tasmania has welcomed today’s announcement by the Liberal Party that they will commit $480,000 towards upgrading Cardigan Street, home of the Somerset Sharks.

The announcement was made by Member for Braddon Gavin Pearce and will see the clubrooms and building extended if the Coalition forms government after the election.

Football Tasmania CEO Matt Bulkeley thanked Mr Pearce for recognising the need for improved football facilities on the north west coast.

“Football has a strong history on the north-west coast and I thank Gavin Pearce and the Liberal Party for recognising the important role it plays contributing to happy and healthy communities,” Mr Bulkeley said.

“These improvements will help the Sharks keep on scoring goals on and off the pitch, with improved facilities taking the club to the next level.

“We’ve been delighted to see funding announcements from Kingston all the way to Somerset this election, and look forward to seeing the various projects come to life after the votes have been counted.
