Football Tasmania has welcomed the launch of the Australian Sports Foundation’s ‘Giving for Sport’ report, which identifies crucial gaps and reveals significant opportunities to increase philanthropic funding for sport.
Football Tasmania CEO Matt Bulkeley said sport played a huge role in building strong communities, encouraging potential Tasmanian benefactors to consider sport organisations when next making a charitable donation.
“Giving back to sport is a great way to give back to your community,” Mr Bulkeley said.
“Grassroots sport plays such a huge role in the community, providing enormous health and social benefits to Tasmanians each and every day.
“The Australian Sports Foundation does a wonderful job in giving grassroots clubs and organisations a platform to attract donations to help build programs and facilities and offer more opportunities for people to get involved in sport.
“Football Tasmania shares the Foundation’s view that amateur sport should be given similar charitable status to the arts, to allow more philanthropic contributions to sport and enhance community outcomes.”
Football Tasmania is currently accepting donations for its community infrastructure fund, which supports the organisation’s efforts to attract State and Federal government upgrades for facilities across the state. To find out more and donate, visit:https://asf.org.au/communities/football-tasmania/
