McDonald’s NPL Tasmania Round 13
Lions Stun Strikers At Portress
The Kingborough Lions brought the Devonport Strikers' undefeated run to an end as they claimed a 2-1 road win at Valley Road to keep their title hopes firmly alive, and dealt a blow to the Strikers' aspirations in the process. A week after being thumped by the Glenorchy Knights, the Lions bounced back with second-half goals from Luttmer and Wright, which was enough to see them home after Toby Barton had nodded Devonport into a first-half lead. The Strikers dominated possession and had plenty of play around the Lions' box, but couldn't convert their chances, and missed a big opportunity to capitalise on South Hobart slipping up.
Final Score
Devonport Strikers 1 (T.Barton 41’)
Kingborough Lions 2 (E.Luttmer 47’, E.Wright 62’)

Second Half Fightback Sees Knights Gaining Ground In Title Race
On a weekend where the two sides above them on the table both dropped points, the Glenorchy Knights took full advantage as they downed the Clarence Zebras 5-2 at KGV on Friday night. At half-time it appeared an upset was on the cards, as former Knights striker Kyle Vincent returned to haunt his former side by scoring a brace. But the Knights found their shooting boots in the second half and powered away from the Zebras who were reduced to 10 men when Fritz Fleury was given his marching orders.

South Slip Up but Salvage Late Point
South Hobart slipped up in the title race, but they maintained their position on top of the table thanks to a late double strike that saw them salvage a dramatic 2-2 draw away to Riverside. Riverside were seemingly cruising to victory when they led 2-0 in the 84th minute courtesy of first-half goals from Adrian Anthony and Matias Rodriguez, before they were reduced to 10 men when Zac Reissig was shown a second yellow card. Two minutes later Alex Walter pulled one back, before Riverside were then reduced to 9 men after Emmanuel Ponce was likewise shown a second yellow. South took full advantage, as Morton cut through the Roos' defence to conjure a late leveller, with both sides coming close to making it 3-2 in the final moments of the game, but ultimately unable to do so.
Final Score
Riverside Olympic 2 (A.Anthony 36’, M.Rodriguez 45’)
South Hobart 2 (A.Walter 86’, N.Morton 89’)

City Continue Derby Domination
Launceston City made it four wins from four games in local derbies this season, as they comfortably accounted for Launceston United 4-0 in icy conditions on Friday night at TassieCare Park. All four goals came in the second half, as City put their control of the contest onto the scoreboard with four different players hitting the back of the net. Noah Curtis battled hard in United's net and made some fine stops, including a penalty save, but the sheer weight of opportunities was simply overwhelming.
Final Score
Launceston City 4 (D.Murfett 46’, T.Swaby 69’, A.Kanneh 74’, L.Warrener og 89’)
