Kingborough Lions 3 (K.Kemp 37’, N.Mies 64’, O.Schwarz 69’)

City Hold on For Narrow Derby Win

Launceston City held off Riverside Olympic to once again claim derby bragging rights, scoring a narrow 1-0 victory at Windsor Park on Friday night. Talisman Thierry Swaby had City ahead inside the opening 10 minutes and it would be the lone goal of the contest. The Roos had chances to draw level and came within a whisker of earning a point right at the death, as Daniel Latinovic made a superb goal line stop in the final minute to save his side.

Final Score

Riverside Olympic 0

Launceston City 1 (T.Swaby 8’)

Strikers Get Back On The Winners List

At Wentworth Park, the Devonport Strikers snapped a streak of draws by comfortably accounting for the Clarence Zebras. Goals from Mahachi, Ichimura and Lanau-Atkinson, as well as the almost weekly dose of Brody Denehey scoring a spectacular goal, saw the Strikers cruise to victory. The three points sees the Strikers gain some ground on the Lions and South at the top of the table, following their draw earlier in the day.

Final Score

Clarence Zebras 0

Devonport Strikers 4 (D.Mahachi 28’, R.Ichimura 52’, N-Lanau-Atkinson 58’, B.Denehey 74’)

The Glenorchy Knights moved back to the top of the NPL Tasmania table as they took care of business against a struggling Launceston United at KGV. In a typically controlled performance, the Knights were simply too strong for United, finding four different goalscorers to reclaim top spot from South on goal difference, with just three points separating the top four sides after 8 Rounds of the season.

Final Score

Glenorchy Knights 4 (D.Theodorou 34’, J.Redfearn 48’, J.Cordwell 66’, H.Bain 73’)
