Strikers Raise Trophy In Style
The Devonport Strikers celebrated the day on which they received their WSL Trophy by hammering the Kingborough Lions 5-2. The Strikers have been relentless in their pursuit of an unbeaten season and remained en route to achieve just that by scoring a comfortable win over the third-placed Lions. In a game played in tricky conditions, the bulk of the goals came early with Dani Capel making it 4-1 after just 34 action-packed minutes that saw five different players hitting the back of the net. Erika Mackintosh made some fine saves in the Lions' net, and Cara Lashmar scored a stunning individual goal, but the visitors were powerless to stop the free-scoring Strikers, who continue to sweep all before them in 2024 and raised the trophy they had earned in front of the home fans following the full-time whistle.

South Lock Down Second Spot
South Hobart all but locked down a second-place finish for the year by downing Riverside Olympic 5-0 at a windy Windsor Park. With conditions wreaking havoc on the play at times, South were far too strong for Riverside and had them under constant pressure at the back, scoring three times in a first half with the wind at their backs, pinning the Roos deep in their own end for most the 45. South's control of the contest saw them adding two more goals in the second half, with Josie Mamic completing the scoring in the 5-0 victory from the penalty spot.
Final Score
Riverside Olympic 0
South Hobart 5 (N.Moutsatsos 12’, A.Browning 23’ 46’, G.Baez 72’, J.Mamic 83’)
