NPL TAS: Team of the Week: March 1-9

GK- Samuel Whatman (Hobart Zebras) Came up with a pair of superb saves early on against South Hobart and was a big reason why they were able to fight back and earn a point. CB- Thomas Young (Glenorchy Knights) A ball playing centre half who is able to help the Knights build from the back, Young's long awaited NPL debut was a quality one against Riverside, including a goal from a corner. CB- Kieran Mulraney (Devonport) The new Strikers captain was immovable at the back and took the points in his duel with Jack Ryan as the Strikers shut out the Warriors in their season opener. CB- Hugh Ludford (South Hobart) The veteran has plenty of competition for a place this season, but he is not going anywhere anytime soon if he continues to defend in the manner he did in South's opening three games. CM- Daniel Syson (Devonport Strikers) Sunk Olympia in the season opener with a classy, composed finish that any striker would be happy with. He was outstanding against the Warriors, returning to Valley Road with a bang. CM- Jono Ladic (Olympia Warriors) Kicked off the season in style, with a stunning volley that will take some beating in the goal of the season stakes. Has already added plenty to the Warriors midfield. CM- Jordan Scott (Olympia Warriors)  The Englishmen has quickly made his mark in the NPL TAS, proving a star in midfield for the Warriors. His set piece delivery has been impressive and has shown an eye for goal. AM- Jack Turner (South Hobart) Produced the match winning goal against the Lions and in an advanced role has continued on with his strong form from last season, harrying defenders, winning the ball back and providing a physical powerful outlet. RF- Matthew Pace (Hobart Zebras) A brace on his first start of the year and an energetic display in attack, showing his speed and ability to get in behind of the defence LF- Nicholas Naden (Glenorchy Knights) Made his mark immediately upon his return to NPL TAS, as he scored four times in the Knights return to the top flight against Riverside. ST- Mathew Sanders (Hobart Zebras) Helped himself to five goals against Clarence to jump into an early lead in the Golden Boot race, and given his early season sharpness, he might not get caught either!
