NPL TAS: Team of the Week, March 11-20

Note- Regular weekly editions of Team of the Week will resume from this weekend. GK- Jarrod Hill (Riverside) A seriously impressive young keeper, Hill has played with a command that belies his age and has been the standout gloveman in the league through the opening rounds. RB- Eddie Bidwell (Devonport) Finally broke through for a first NPL TAS goal and has continued on with the form that saw him in the team of the season last year. CB- Guillermo Lazcano (Devonport) The Strikers ability to retain the services of the talented Spaniard for another season is looming large, as the Strikers continue to look the best defence in the competition led by the brilliant Lazcano. CB- Paul Stevens (Olympia) Has been one of the Warriors best so far, putting in classy performances against Knights and Zebras, patrolling the backline and keeping things locked down with his reading of the play. LB- Riley Dillon (Hobart Zebras) One of the best two way players in the competition, Dillon provides so much drive with his ability to charge forward but remains defensively responsible. CM- Horacio Gutierrez Jnr (Kingborough) The Lions American import has brought plenty of energy and steel to the engine room. Covers the pitch well and is a true box to box midfielder, influencing play at both ends. CM- Dominic Easton (Kingborough) The youngster has jumped out as one of the lead candidates for the Rising Star award across the early rounds, he has played with confidence and moved the ball around nicely. CM- Daniel Syson (Devonport) Seems to have reinvented himself as an attacking force, kicking on from last season. His goals have been quality strikes from outside the box and the 'Prodigal Son' has been a welcome return. LF- Rhys Kinslow (Riverside) His darting movement up front keeps defenders on their toes and he made it 2 goals in 2 games for the week with his dramatic late winner. RF- Declan Brown (Glenorchy Knights) Was his sides best against the Warriors and his fine solo goal gave them the lead before he helped himself to a hat-trick against a Clarence side who couldn't handle him. ST- Noah Mies (Launceston City) His side might not be off the mark, but Mies has scored in every game he has played so far and been his sides shining light, leading the line with strength and scoring goals.
