Clarence have claimed their first point of the NPL Tasmania season, holding the Kingborough Lions to 1-1 draw at Wentworth Park. Jonathon O’Neill gave Clarence an early lead before Danny Cowen responded from the penalty spot midway through the second half as both sides had to settle for a point apiece.

Launceston City left defending Champions South Hobart frustrated as they battled out a 0-0 draw at Buckby Landrover Park. Despite shading the chances South could not find a way past Niko Giantsopoulos and ended the game with 10 men following Jack Turner’s dismissal.

Northern Rangers 2-3 Devonport
A Brayden Mann brace, finished off from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute of the game earned Devonport a 3-2 win over Northern Rangers at the NTCA Ground. A poor challenge in the box in stoppage time cost the Rangers dearly, as they lit slip a 2-1 lead to fall to the Strikers who jump up to second on the table with the win.

Hobart Zebras 3-1 Olympia Warriors
A Jakub Sklenar brace and a superb Mathew Sanders volley saw Hobart Zebras fight back from a half time deficit to defeat Olympia 3-1 in their ANZAC Day clash and move back to the top of the NPL Tasmania table.

University 0-5 Ulverstone
Ulverstone comfortably overcame a valiant University side 5-0 at Olinda Grove in their Round 5 Super League clash. The first half saw a tightly fought encounter, before for the second week in a row Ulverstone steamrolled through the second half, scoring four goals in the space of fifteen minutes to seal the win.

A Keilin Fagan hat-trick fired Launceston City past a plucky South Hobart side in an enthralling Women’s Super League showdown. South fought back from 2-0 down to level the game at 2-2 and then pulled it back to 4-3 in the 88th minute but couldn’t find a way past City who remain unbeaten and on top of the table after 5 rounds.

A long range free kick from Lucy Johnson earned the Hobart Zebras a point as they drew 1-1 with Taroona in their ANZAC Day clash. Taroona had taken the lead via a Zoe Horgan strike and had all the momentum before Johnson’s shot from distance clawed back a point for the Zebras in another thrilling game between the pair.
