Northern Rangers duo, Robert Gerrard and Moana Chamberlain have taken out the top honours at the 2019 Veto Northern Awards night.
Gerrard polled 23 votes to claim the George Dale medal by a singular vote, beating out Somerset's Astyn Johnson. Launceston United's Yasin Mohamadi came in third on 18 votes, with Devonport pair Charles Bidwell and Connor Lizotte rounding out the top five.
Chamberlain claimed the Women's comfortably, polling 26 votes ahead of Riverside's Meg Connoly on 23 votes. There was a 3 way tie in third on 17 Votes, with Riverside's, Chelsea Baker and Panayiota Antypas joining Sarah Roberts from Devonport in the top five.
In the Northern Championship 1 competition, Kamil Douglas out polled teammate Grant Ashdown by a single vote to win on 19, whilst Golden Boot winner Josh Bula took out the Under 18's ahead of Fletcher Fulton from Launceston United.
In the awards voted on by the coaches, the officiating awards went to Jacob Ball as the Young Referee of the Year and Nathan Brain as the Referee of the year. Whilst there were some surprises in the Coach of the Year awards, with Greg Duffy of Launceston United taking out the Women's Championship and Chris McKenna the Men's Championsip for his job at the Devonport Strikers.
