The Devonport Strikers capped off another incredible NPL TAS campaign in style, downing the Glenorchy Knights 4-1 at KGV on Saturday to ensure they would go through the season undefeated and finish 9 points clear on top of the table.
The first half saw no scoring from either side but the Strikers appeared on a mission to ensure they maintained their unbeaten record and created the best of the chances.
Stone came close early, drawing a good save from Hart before Bidwell smashed a drive from 40 yards out that rattled the upright.
Daniel Syson should've scored the opener just before half time but could only produce a tame effort from close range.
It didn't take long into the second 45 for the breakthrough to arrive however as Eddie Bidwell charged into the box and was tripped up by Tyler Harrison prompting Nathan Coad to point straight to the spot.
Up stepped the Canadian Reynolds, and just as he did in securing the title last week, he fired home truly to put his side a goal to the good.
The second came from a rare Oscar Thomas mistake, so good for so much of this season, he failed to deal with a long ball which let in Brody Denehey whose initial shot was saved by Hart before he swept home the rebound.
The third was the moment of the game, pure inspiration from the man widely regarded as the premier player in the competition in Joel Stone. Beating his marker all ends up, Stone then fired from outside the area to make it 3-0 and ensure a perfect finish for his side.
That seemed to deflate the Knights and the fourth goal from Devonport came from Eddie Bidwell who somehow made his way into the box running straight through the heart of the Knights defence before firing past a desperately unlucky Lachie Hart at the second time of asking, having saved his initial effort.
Substitute Alex Walter salvaged a late goal for the home side on a day he was confirmed as the Golden Boot winner, scoring his 13th of the season but it did little to take the shine of another glistening Devonport display.
The Champions of 16,18,19 and now 20 have consistently raised their game in the big games when needed and against the only side to loom as a threat to them this season they put them to the sword to finish with an unbeaten season and an undeniable dynasty.
