Just the two games in the Women's Super League this weekend, but both games are interesting match-ups with the major potential to produce quality high quality contests.
Starting up on the Coast where the defending champions Ulverstone will curiously play a home game at Valley Road! The Reds will host the the Warriors at the venue in order to keep their Super League team together with the rest of their Northern Championships teams who are away to Devonport. In that way they should maximise the support the side receives. The Reds will be looking to avenge their 3-1 round 2 loss to the Warriors at Warrior Park. Ulverstone didn't have a lot go their way on that day, dealing with multiple injuries and an own goal, but there is no doubt Olympia were good value for the win. Their pace caused the usually imperious Ulverstone defence plenty of trouble, and on a bigger pitch than Warrior Park that advantage will only be exacerbated. Ulverstone have had some major ins to their squad since that day and will see more of the ball and generate more chances this time around. But the Warriors still look the team to beat this season and they are just so potent in attack that its hard to cast them as underdogs.

In the weekend's other game, its South Hobart up against Clarence at Wentworth Park. Fresh off their big upset win over the Kingborough Lions, the Reds will be feeling good and have a chance to make it 3 wins from 4 games from their interrupted schedule to start the season. Certainly the one loss they did suffer, going down 16-0 to Olympia showed they aren't going to make a bid for the title, but they can push for a top half finish if they replicate last weeks impressive performance. An injured South side meanwhile continue to search for their first win and this fixture probably represents their best chance at breaking through. Last time they met was at Darcy Street in a cracking game that finished 4-3 in favour of Clarence. It was quite the fightback from a Clarence side who trailed in that game 3-1 and showed fine fighting qualities. There wasn't much between the sides on that day, and there shouldn't be again on Saturday though Clarence's win last week suggests they enter the contest as the favourites.
