Ulverstone have finished their Super League season with a comprehensive 6-2 win over South Hobart at home. The 2018 champions clicked into gear in the second half, breaking a game that had been locked up at 2-2, wide open in the second half to secure the three points.
Danielle Mitchell hit the back of the net twice, whilst Amy Bissett, Lucy Foote, Jazmin White and Tiela Weeda also scored in the victory. Niki Moutatsos and former Ulverstoen striker, Phoebe Djakic, scored for South.
The win leaves Ulverstone with a 12-2-6 record for the season, a total of 38 points that will see them finish in third position. Whilst it was 12 points off the summit, given the periods of time they had key players unavailable for, it bodes well for the 2021 season. Plenty of young players were given opportunities this season that will be all the better for it in the coming seasons.
For South Hobart, after losing the vast core of their 2018 side, they were up against it from the outset and a horror run of injuries didn't help their cause. Whilst they will finish in sixth place with a 2-0-18 record, there were plenty of positive signs for the future and with a cleaner bill of health in 2020, expect them to lift that win tally.
