Warriors Conclude Scintillating Season In Style

The Olympia Warriors wound up their triumphant 2020 Women's Super League campaign in the same manner in which they won it, in utterly dominant fashion. Taking the field for the last time in the WSL season and for the first time since hoisting the trophy, the Warriors rested a few key starters but were still completely untroubled by last place University as they ran out 8-0 winners. The goals flowed from the opening moments as Olivia Bomford scored in just the third minute and by full time she had chalked up a hat-trick to finish second on the goal scoring charts for the season, an incredible effort from midfield. Golden Boot winner Bonnie Davies also got in on the act, scoring twice to see her season total end on 31 goals in 15 game. Whilst short of the 38 goal mark achieved by Lucy Johnson and Jazmin White in 2017 and 2018 respectively, it came in 6 games fewer  due to the shortened season and on a goals per game basis it is the most dominant season from a striker since the inception of the Super League. Their attention will now turn to the Statewide Cup, with a Semi Final looming next Sunday against South Hobart, 4:30pm at Warrior Park.
