Warriors hold off South

A very cagey game was on display at Warrior Park but in the end Olympia's quality came through and got the vital 3 points in a 2-0 win over South Hobart. The first half was very wasteful from Olympia who nearly broke into double figures with shots off target, but credit to South's defence who held the line well and made Olympia turn the ball over a number of times. South had some standout performances in defence,  centre back Sophie Rule and Lucy Roberts held the line well and brought some tidy possession for the team. In the second half after it looked like South had made a game out of this with the scores locked at 0-0, it was Hailey Marino in the 63rd minute who pounced on a error from keeper Danielle Louis and calmly tapped the ball into a open net for the Warriors first goal. Then in the 70th minute it was Bonnie Davies who saw the keeper off her line a fraction, taking aim for the right corner of the net, she buried it beautifully home for the final goal of the game. That goal was Davies 10th goal of the WSL Season. There would be more woes for South when Georgie Parker went down hard from a knock clutching her knee, she was stretchered off and did look to be in some pain. After the game Olympia coach Alistair Russell said "Not a convincing win but a win nevertheless, attacking third lacked that final finish but I felt we deserved the 3 points in the end" Alistair Russell Interview [audio m4a="https://www.sliceofcheese.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Alastair-29.6.m4a"][/audio]
