The Olympia Warriors moved back into top spot on the table with a comprehensive dismantling of the Kingborough Lions, running out 8-0 winners. Taking advantage of a strong wind at their backs, the Warriors raced to a 6-0 half time lead with their glistening attack led by Chambers and Davies proving too much for the Lions to handle.
The Warriors wasted little time putting this one beyond doubt and had built a comfortable 4-0 lead inside of half an hour as they blitzed a young Lions side who struggled to keep possession coming out of defence.
Bonnie Davies pounced on a sloppy backpass for the simplest of openers just moments after kick off and when Bomford finished off Madi Chambers cross on 10 minutes you got the sense it was going to be all one way traffic.
Chambers turned scorer for her side's third before Mia Cane got in on the act, having missed a couple of chances to open her account she made no mistake on 30 minutes or 9 minutes later when she bagged her brace.
The relentless pressing and speed of the Warriors attack, led brilliantly by Davies was simply overwhelming for the Lions who struggled to get out of their own end with the wind a prominent factor. Charlotte Chambers made it six just before the break and it was effectively game over.
With a big game on Wednesday night the Warriors put the cue in the rack somewhat in the second half, though would still manage to add two more goals.
The brilliant Chambers, who looks back to her 2019 form and the speedy Davies added to the final tally with second half strikes to see the side run out 8-0.
Their imperious defensive record of having not conceded was also maintained, though that was thanks to Jenna Farrow who made 3 really strong saves to deny Laura Davis who battled hard all day for the Lions and nearly scored a couple of superb solo goals only to be denied by the Warriors #1.
It ensures the Warriors will head into Wednesday's huge showdown with the Clarence Zebras with a perfect record still intact, and means they can open up a 5 point gap atop the table should they get the job done.
