Warriors Storm To Under 20's Triumph

The Olympia F.C Warriors have claimed the Under 20 Statewide Cup in domineering fashion, smashing the Glenorchy Knights 7-0 in decider. The Warriors wasted little time in taking the lead and were simply too strong for their outmatch opponents, scoring consistently throughout the 90 minutes. They took the lead in just the second minute as Lufti Baddiley was on hand for a close range finish after a set piece had been headed back into the middle of the box. On 17 minutes that lead was doubled as Koby Moschogiannis was afforded too much room in the box allowing him to nod home the cross from Tyson Barrett. Barrett then turned scorer as he became the man on the end of the cross to not home a third shortly before half time that struck a hammer blow to any feint hopes of a Knights second half rally. Those hopes were quickly extinguished further after the restart as the Warriors attacking onslaught continued and Abdelrahman bundled home the fourth from all of a foot out. Some wonderful work from Bilal Ait Mamaar, showing great feet out wide before producing a perfect cross the back post then allowed Barrett to head home his second of the day and then make it 5-0 after 55 minutes. With the game all but settled the sting was out of the game, but the Warriors were enjoying themselves and added two more goals before the final whistle. Abdelrahman was left with a simple tap in after a mazy run from Matthias Collins drew a save from O'Brien before substitute Evan Arnold put the cherry on top with a stoppage time goal, taking advantage of a mixup at the back between defender and keeper. The final score 7-0 to Olympia, who jubilantly lifted the trophy to celebrate a most dominant of Cup final displays. https://youtu.be/Mxbp91a-cqI
