Austin Yost scored a goal from inside the centre circle, as the Olympia Warriors routed Launceston City 4-0 at Buckby Land Rover Park in their Round 12 NPL clash. Yost's downtown strike was the high point of the second half, but the win was set up in the first, as goals from Brown, Mwarabu and Mamic secured a comfortable win for the Warriors.
It was a pretty dominant showing from the Warriors for most of the afternoon in a game they had wrapped up early on.
On 20 minutes the scoring began when a sloppy turnover at the back presented Mamic with a prime chance at the back post and he fired home truly to chalk up his first NPL tas goal.
Callum Brown then doubled the advantage with a very tidy finish after some nice build up play, taking a couple of volleyed touches to settle the ball down before stroking home the goal.
Two minutes later and the game appeared all but over when Joseph Mwarabu absolutely blasted one from 25 yards out that rocketed top corner to make it 3-0.
In most games the Mwarabu strike would've been goal of the day, but Austin Yost firmly one upped him in the second half.
Picking the ball up in the middle of Buckby Land Rover Park, Yost spied Johnson off his line and let fly with a speculative chip that sailed through the air and lobbed the young keeper for an incredible goal.
It capped a 4-0 win for the Warriors and strikes a psycological blow ahead of the two sides upcoming Lakoseljac Cup Semi Final.
