Hobart Zebras 1-2 Kingborough Lions
The Kingborough Lions have continued their rapid rebuild under new coach Jez Kenth with an upset 2-1 win over the Hobart Zebras at KGV. A stunning two-minute brace from Horacio Gutierrez Jr. fired the Lions ahead in a dominant first half performance, before a contentious penalty kept the Zebras close heading into the break. Despite outplaying their hosts for the entire 90 minutes, Kingborough couldn’t find a goal to kill the game off but survived a late Hobart push to take an important three points.
Match Report Glenorchy Knights 2-5 Devonport Strikers They were given a frights early, but the Devonport Strikers have moved five points clear on top of the NPL TAS ladder with a 5-2 win over Glenorchy at KGV. An electric first half from the returning Callum Brown looked to have the Knights in the box seat, but Devonport clawed their way back in front before half time and controlled the game brilliantly from there. Eddie Bidwell, Miles Barnard, Max Fitzgerald and Joel Stone were all outstanding and hit the scoreboard for the Strikers in another crucial result in the NPL TAS title race. Match Report Clarence 1-6 South Hobart South Hobart produced a professional performance to top off a great week for the club by defeating Clarence 6-1 at Wentworth Park on Saturday afternoon in the NPLS TAS. South came into the match riding the high of their Lakoseljac Cup victory over Devonport just five days earlier, but with some injuries they had to ensure they weren’t too complacent against a Clarence side that had improved since the teams last met. Ulverstone 0-2 Hobart Zebras A clinical display by the Hobart Zebras saw the side claim a massive win on the road over Ulverstone. Two contrasting goals: one conjured by magic, the other born of defensive negligence, would prove to be the difference between the sides. In a contest that was stuck in the middle of the park in the way bubblegum can be stuck to hair, scoring opportunities were a rare commodity. But that didn’t stop Allie Berry and Zoe Nichols from finding the back of the net and handing the Zebras a crucial 2-0 win. Match Report  Kingborough Lions 7-2 South Hobart It was a cold winters Saturday afternoon twilight clash at Lightwood Park, and the Lions utilised their home advantage to storm home in a 7-2 thrashing down at the Den. There would be no Laura Davis in the starting eleven today but that didn’t stop the Lions showing just how good their depth is without her. Match Report Clarence 0-5 Olympia  The Olympia Warriors secured a comfortable 5-0 win over Clarence United on Saturday afternoon in their Round 11 WSL encounter. The Warriors bossed the contest and threatened to score more, but a resilient defensive effort and inspired goalkeeping display from Amelia Vanderniet ensured the Reds avoided a major blowout.
