Zoe Horgan produced a masterclass in the art of the set piece, scoring three free kicks and converting a penalty as she almost single handedly willed her side past Hobart Zebras to a thrilling 6-5 victory. In one of the great cup games, Taroona twice hauled themselves back from two goal deficits to force the game into extra time where they finally got past the defending champions. Match Report
Olympia 7-3 Launceston City
A determined Olympia side wiped the floor with the current Super League leaders in their Statewide Cup Quarter Final to run out 7-3 victors. Two stunning long range strikes from Olivia Bomford led the charge, but she had plenty of support as City found themselves unable to cope with the speed and movement of the Olympia attackers. South Hobart 1-6 Ulverstone
Ulverstone continued their flawless start to the 2018 season as they booked their place in the Statewide Cup Semi finals with a comfortable 6-1 win over South Hobart. In a mirror of the score from their Super League game a fortnight earlier, it was once again the Coastal side who were far too strong, as their star striker Jazmin Gorrie helped herself to 5 goals. Northern Rangers 1-2 Kingborough
The Kingborough Lions advanced to the final 4 of the Women’s Statewide Cup with a narrow victory over Northern Rangers at the NTCA ground. Rangers belied their Championship status with a commendable effort but Laura Davis struck home midway through the second half and the Lions defence held on to secure the win. Match Report
