WSL Round 2 Team of the Week

GK- Shelley Cook (Hobart Zebras) A clean sheet for the veteran stopper as she made some nice saves to backstop her side to an important win. CB- Kayla Mason (Hobart Zebras) Negated the dangerous Laura Davis, tracking her tightly throughout the contest and winning their hotly anticipated duel. CB- Zara Dixon (Clarence) Made a few nice stops at the back, but it was the brilliant long range goal from Dixon that really made her performance stand out. CB- Selina Steventon (Hobart Zebras) The experienced defender, was strong in the challenge, rarely beaten and then stepped up and was once again clinical from the spot. RW- Emily Grzinic (Clarence) Inspired the Clarence second half fightback as she drew the save that led to Downham's goal before scoring a stunning solo goal to win the game. CM- Georgia Foote (Ulverstone) Picked up where she left off in 2018, the Optus Medal winner was dominant for her side, doing plenty of work both offensively and defensively. CM- Olivia Bomford (Olympia) Was her usual reliable self in central midfield, keeping things ticking over and doing a good job feeding her wingers into threatening positions. CM- Inocent Michael (Olympia) Moved the ball around the pitch nicely, got stuck in with some good challenges and did plenty of the grunt work for the Warriors, LW- Madison Chambers (Olympia) Terrorised the Ulverstone defence all afternoon and was the most dangerous attacker on the pitch, causing an own goal and creating numerous chances. ST- Pishon Choi (South Hobart) A brace for Choi and she was denied by the crossbar on another occasion, Choi was her sides biggest threat all game and unlucky to not end up on the winning side. ST- Danielle Kannegiesser (Hobart Zebras) Scored one and setup another as Kannegiesser provided the cutting edge in attack for the Zebras to break the game open in the second half.
