We are excited to share that our beloved KGV at Grove Road has had its major facelift completed, creating a new grandstand and upgraded player, official and public facilities which are now open.
The grandstand has been refurbished, and now includes two new change rooms, new referee change rooms, a first aid room, a kiosk and new storage rooms.
Stage one was completed in July 2024, and included two players’ change rooms, a referee change room and public toilets, where the old public toilets were previously located.
Fencing and gates have been installed either side of the change rooms beneath the grandstand, and will be installed either side of the new change rooms next to the public toilet block soon.
This is to ensure that when players and match officials are entering or leaving the field of play, there is suitable separation from spectators. Spectator access to the public toilets is via the rear of the grandstand.
Glenorchy Knights’ clubrooms have also recently been fully refurbished and opened, including the former Football Tasmania head office. Glenorchy Knights welcome patrons on match days, noting the upstairs mezzanine area is reserved for Knights’ members only. Food and drinks can be purchased from the clubrooms.
A big thank you to Glenorchy City Council and Glenorchy Knights for their communication and collaboration while these significant building works have been undertaken.
Thank you also to all KGV ground users for your understanding and patience during these works.
