
Football Tasmania has had a huge 15-month period of coach education success, with participant numbers being at an all-time high.
The Football Department has delivered 15 coaching courses with a total of 315 coaches attending.

The highlight has been the delivery of the first ever B Licence course in Tasmania with 24 Tasmanian based coaches completing the 90 hour practical and online components.
Football Australia has launched new Diploma and community courses, with Tasmanian coaches and coach instructors able to get first-hand insights through attendance of FA Coach Educator Tutor Gary Phillips.
Seven Tasmanian course instructors attended a workshop and then assisted with the delivery of the first Foundation course.
During November 38 coaches attended the new C Diploma course, while 63 coaches complete the Foundation of Football course.
Plans for 2024 include:
- 1 x B Diploma commencing 13 January
- 3 x C Diploma courses
- 6 x Foundation courses (next course Pembroke Park January 20th, 2024)
- 1 x Goalkeeper Foundation course
- 1 x Goalkeeper B Diploma course (facilitated by J Franken Football Australia)
- MiniRoos courses as required (next course Launceston 14 January 2024)
Workshops
In 2024, Football Tasmania also plans to deliver workshops on the following topics:
- Match Analysis / video editing
- Wellbeing
- Child safety
- Sports Session Planner development / training (online)
- Practical sessions
- Course bridging sessions
- Principles of play
Sessions will be delivered by local and interstate coaches and presenters.
Expressions of interest will be released once workshops are locked in.
