Job Opportunity- Referees Development Officer – Southern Tasmania

Referees Development Officer – Southern Tasmania Football Federation Tasmania seeks applications from interested parties for the above role. In principle the role is to co-ordinate the development and training of referees in Southern Tasmania as well as working in partnership with the Referee Technical Committee and FFT’s Competition Manager. This position will be casual with the number of hours to be agreed, but as a guide this may be in the range of 10-14 hours per week during the course of the season. Outline of duties: -Assist in preparing the annual Referees Seminar. -Provide referee fitness testing opportunities in your region as part of a state plan. -Provide advice/support in regard to match appointments. -Conduct a weekly training/coaching session for registered referees. -Engage assessors to undertake a program of referee assessments. -Coordinate the completion of coaching / assessment sheets on identified referees weekly. -Build a relationship with and communicate to registered referees in your region. -Provide feedback and information to the Referee Technical Committee as required. -Maintain and strengthen links with Referees and Clubs in your region in conjunction with FFT staff with a strong emphasis on recruitment and retention. -Plan a schedule of referee introductory courses and upgrading courses for your region in conjunction with the Referee Technical Committee. Whilst it is not strictly essential, the successful applicant should have hands-on refereeing experience and definitely a strong knowledge of football in Tasmania. Integration into the role will be supported by the Referee Technical Committee and FFT’s Competition Manager. Other duties as agreed with the FFT and the Referee Technical Committee.
