Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO) are a proactive way of managing the rights of members in your sport. Having a dedicated person who is well versed with your sport's member protection policy can be a pre-emptive strategy in
managing concerns, complaints and member protection matters.
Communities, Sport and Recreation (CSR) is running a Member Protection Information Officer workshop for club and association members on 9 May 2019.
MPIOs advise club members on their rights and can provide guidance on complaint procedures. Every club should consider having at least one trained MPIO.
There are three steps to becoming a Play by the Rules recognised MPIO:
1. Complete an online MPIO training course though the Play by the Rules learning portal
2. Complete a free of charge face-to-face MPIO workshop— see below
3. Register as an MPIO nationally through www.playbytherules.net.au
Sport and Recreation will be conducting its next MPIO face-to-face workshop:
Hobart - 6-9pm Thursday 9 May, Domain Athletics Centre, Register at https://guestli.st/605325
