It was a triumphant return to Darcy Street for Kobe Kemp, as the midfield star led South Hobart to a 4-1 win over Launceston City with a stunning brace.
After starting the season with Caroline Springs George Cross FC, Kemp re-signed with South during the week and wasted no time settling back into the lineup. His two goals capped off a dominant performance across the park, as Nick Morton and Alex Walter also netted in South's final tune-up ahead of the FFA Cup Round of 32 next week. A late consolation goal from Noah Mies was the only real positive for Launceston City, and an injury concern to…
The Devonport Strikers are now well and truly in the box seat to take out the 2019 NPL TAS title after downing Olympia 4-1 at Valley Road on Saturday. A hat-trick to Miles Barnard along with an Eddie Bidwell volley helped the home side overpower the Warriors, and it would take a dramatic change in form to see a change at the top of table now.
The game kicked off with chances to both teams, with Joffery Nkoso coming close on two occasions before Joel Stone forced a save from McDonald. In the 5th minute an Eddie Bidwell cross deflected off Ryan Cook to win…
It was a brave defensive shift from Clarence today, but Olympia have come out winners after scoring three second half goals to give them a 3-0 win away at Wentworth Park. Clarence keeper Amelia Vanderniet played the game of her life today, making save after save but it wasn't enough to keep out the Warriors who eventually broke her defence.
The first real action of the day came from Zara Dixon who cleared Olympia's Innocent Michael's shot off the line after Vanderniet ran out to clear the danger in the 16th minute.
Speaking of clearing the line, Vanderniet was called into action shortly…
The Hobart Zebras have returned to form defeating Clarence United away at Wentworth Park in a 4-0 win over Warren Burt's men. In the process the Zebras also claimed the Luke Cripps memorial shield, held to remember the popular former player of both sides.
The Zebras had to utilise a lot of youth prospects today due to the suspensions and injuries they had before the game. Both Alex and Sam Smith were promoted to the starting eleven, while Arthur Wilson and Sam Jones came off the bench.
Matthew Sanders opened the scoring for Zebras when he won a spot kick in the 29th minute, after a…

The South Hobart Football Club starting XI won't be the only Tasmanian presence taking to the pitch in tomorrow night's FFA Cup Round of 32 clash, with Tony Peart, Thomas Mace and Brenton Kopra selected as match officials for the occasion.
Peart and Mace will run the line as Assistant Referee's, whilst Kopra will be the fourth official, in what will be the most Tasmanian match officials ever used in an FFA Cup game.
Peart said it was a sign of the strides made in refereeing in the State and that the appointments were made with an eye to future A-League opportunities.

NPL NSW heavyweights Marconi Stallions are through to the FFA Cup round of 16 after overcoming South Hobart 3-0, in front of a bumper crowd at Blundstone Arena on Wednesday Night.
2’617 people showed up to the first game of football to be played at Blundstone Arena, with the vast majority of those hoping to see South Hobart cause an upset against the ex-NSL club, with some of those people still lining up for tickets at the thirty-minute mark.
Hardly a minute after kick-off the Stallions had a chance to take the lead when Martin Fernandez’s clever flick over the top put James Andrew through…
As we enter the final rounds of the 2019 season, the title race looks just about done. From here it is the Devonport Strikers title to lose, as they firmly occupy the box seat after their win over Olympia last weekend. They will host the Kingbough Lions on Saturday and can take a further step towards securing their title defence with another 3 points. The Lions were dissappointing in their last start against Launceston City, after launching something of a second half of the season surge under new boss Jez Kenth.
If they were to win out from here, the Strikers closest rivals Olympia could…
Saturday looms as an enormous day in shaping the 2019 Women's Super League table. The top two sides are facing significant tests in an afternoon that may well prove decisive in settling the title.
At Warrior Park, the ladder leading Olympia Warriors take on Ulverstone side who have proved a close match up for them in all 3 of their meetings so far in 2019. They have split the meetings one win apiece, and then played out a 2-2 draw in the other game. Olympia did win the one game of the three that was at Warrior Park, though Ulverstone have welcomed back some key players since that 3-1 result…
A convincing performance from Glenorchy Knights saw them defeat bottom-placed Clarence at KGV today. After knocking on the door for the opening 20 minutes, they finally found their break through and went on to score another seven as they made it back to back wins following last week's victory against Riverside.
Nick Naden scored the first the 24th minute after Knights had already registered a shot count in double digits, a lobbed through ball from Tyler Harrison playing the Knights striker in on goal. After shrugging off Jeremy Price, Naden calmly placed it…
Ulverstone has blown the Women's Super League title race wide open, downing the ladder-leading Olympia Warriors 2-0 at Warrior Park on Saturday.
A brace from the WSL's leading goalscorer Jazmin White saw the visitors take down the Warriors for the second time this season. After their first home defeat of the year, Olympia have now dropped into second place on goal difference after the Hobart Zebras claimed a comfortable win against Kingborough. With just four rounds left they would have hoped to build on a three-point buffer, but a frustrating afternoon in attack and some clinical finishing…
The Devonport Strikers defeated the Kingborough Lions 2-1 at Valley Road to move a step closer to securing the title, with a stunning late Joel Stone free kick firing the home side to the win.
The Strikers controlled the first half with the majority of the attack being in their favour, but to their credit the Lions defended well and managed to keep Devonport goalless to half-time.
The major flash-point of the half came when Lions keeper Kenneth Perkinson caught a studs up tackle in the box from Miles Barnard. Barnard somehow escaped without a booking, whilst Perkinson argued his case and…
