Launceston City picked up just their second win at home this season in a comfortable 4-0 win against Clarence. With this win, City managed to leapfrog the Glenorchy Knights and move into sixth place on the NPL Tasmania table.
It is now a tight race between Knights, Kingborough and Launceston City for fifth place, with all three sides sitting within two points of each other. However, City does maintain a slight advantage, having played one fewer game than their competitors.
Both Launceston City and Clarence seemed to be testing the limits of their squads, with Clarence only naming two…
Made some big saves to keep the Warriors at bay and almost allow her side to escape with a point despite the mounting pressure being applied.
CB- Georgia Foote (Ulverstone)
Strong as ever and dominant as she stepped up and helped Ulverstone control the game, pushing forward and driving the play at every chance.
CB-Selina Steventon (Hobart Zebras)
Offered her usual brand of leadership at the back as well as a raft of strong defensive challenges. Stepped up and converted coolly from the penalty spot.
The Olympia F.C Warriors will look to move into first place in the NPL Tasmania when they take on Glenorchy Knights on Friday night at Warrior Park. With the gap currently at two points to Devonport, the Warriors could take advantage of playing first up in the round and jump them on the table. Albeit the Strikers would then have 2 games in hand, but with Devonport facing a potentially tough away game to Launceston City on Saturday evening, the pressure would be dialled up on them were the Warriors to defeat the Knights.
On form that should be expected with Knights currently on a horrible run…

The Olympia Warriors and Hobart Zebras both have the chance to take a giant leap towards securing the 2019 Women's Super League crown when they clash on Saturday at Warrior Park in Round 15's feature match. With just a point separating the pair, their two remaining fixtures against each loom as the two most decisive games of the season left on the slate.
The Warriors currently sit on top by a point, but the Zebras do have a game in hand. The Zebras also have the tougher games left, with two games against the Kingborough Lions and Ulverstone still to come, where as the Warriors only have to…
The Olympia Warriors have moved into top spot and ramped up the pressure on the Devonport Strikers with a tight 2-1 win over Glenorchy.
Olympia knew going into Friday night's clash that a win would move them into first, and while the Strikers could reclaim that lead today the Warriors would have slept well last night knowing they're still well and truly in the title race. A man of the match performance and two goals from Jack Ryan helped them to recover from a horror start and claim a crucial three points in challenging conditions.
On an icy night and with strong winds blowing across…
The Olympia Warriors took a big step towards securing the WSL title with a convincing 3-0 victory over rivals Hobart Zebras at Warrior Park. Madison Chambers scored a hat-trick as the Zebras were kept scoreless for the first time all season and the Warriors lead was extended to four points atop the league table.
Allie Berry was left out of the Zebras starting line-up after a knock at training meant her fitness was questionable but it made no difference to the Zebras early on who found themselves with two glorious opportunities inside the first ten minutes of play. Lily Hulton was given time…
A stunning second-half performance helped Ulverstone to stave off a Women's Super League boilover, as they twice came from behind to beat South Hobart 6-3.
The upset was on the cards for much of the day at Darcy Street after South led 3-1 with more than an hour off the clock. But Ulverstone's class across the park shone through late, as three goals in nine minutes and a Jazmin White hat-trick broke the game open and saw them storm away to a big win.
The quality displayed in that explosive finish was sorely lacking early in the game, as the visitors struggled to make their passes stick and…
The Kingborough Lions have stormed to an impressive win away at Wentworth park, claiming a 5-0 victory over Clarence United. Laura Davis was the star of the day netting another four goals to take her overall tally to 13 for the season.
Clarence were holding their defensive line well until the 35th minute when they gave away a penalty kick and presented the Lions with the chance to take the lead. Up stepped Davis and she placed it beautifully into the bottom right corner way out of Amelia Vanderniet's reach.
Only four minutes later and the Lions was gifted yet another penalty for a challenge…
The Devonport Strikers hit the ground running after their week off from NPL action, notching up a 4-0 win over Northern rivals Launceston City. The win sees the Strikers return to the top of the NPL Tasmania table after Olympia claimed the top spot for less than 24 hours. Dominic Smith was handed the captain's armband in what was his 100th NPL Tas appearance and he made no mistake in helping his side keep a clean sheet.
Devonport remained in control for the entirety of the match but struggled to translate that control into goals in the first half. Apart from an unfortunate own goal from City…
The Kingborough Lions have bounced back in style after last weeks disappointing result back at the Den. Despite having an under strength XI, they won 5-1 on the road at Wentworth over Clarence United
In the 22nd minute Clarence's defence was broken when a corner ball was sent in from Cameron Steele. Plenty of bodies clashed for it but it was Brayton Allen waiting to pick up the pieces for his second goal of the season, as he slotted it home for the Lions first.
Jake Brennan then sent in a good cross for Phillip Kantzos in the 30th minute, as he got onto his…
On paper this match-up between the top two sides in the Women’s Super League was a tantalising affair. A contest you'd expect to be tighter than attempting a reverse park at peak hour in the City. A free scoring Hobart Zebras side making the trek across the bridge to meet with the table topping Olympia Warriors was always going to produce a blockbuster. Pre-match only a madman would've predicted a comfortable 3-0 win for the Warriors, their first two games had been tight, tense affairs, ending in scores of 2-2 and 3-2. But funny things happen in Football and a touch of madness is exactly what…
South Hobart produced a dominant performance to down the Hobart Zebras 2-0 at Darcy Street on Sunday. Goals to Nick Morton and Kasper Hallam led the home side to victory, with the return to form vital as South prepare for their upcoming FFA Cup clash with Marconi.
The game started with the Zebras attacking early and Nicky Edwards having his shot on goal blocked. South then produced an early chance of their own, with a last-ditch effort from the Zebras’ defence denying Samuel Berezansky the opening goal.
Having survived a couple of early Zebras attacks, South began to assert their dominance…
