A great day for football at Montello Park, Burnie on Sunday with the Devonport Strikers Development Program playing the Cradle Coast SAP Program.
The two programs are continuing to provide opportunities for junior footballers throughout summer, with a number of further friendly games to be played over the coming months.

Football Federation Tasmania are holding a junior football festival at the Twin Ovals, Kingborough, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of December, and are including Under 13 and 14 Girls' teams.
The Under 13 and Under 14 Girls' rosters are open to ALL Football Federation Tasmania clubs who wish to nominate.
Football Federation Tasmania wants to offer more opportunities for younger females who would like to play more often throughout the year.
Nominations are called for the FFT Referees Standing Committee. The role of the committee is to advise FFT on matters relevant to refereeing in Tasmania. Whilst nominations are open to persons aged 18 years and over, FFT would like to ensure representation from each part of Tasmania so welcome persons wishing to join the committee from all parts of the State.
Nominations must be supported by either two registered referees, or a member club or association of FFT.
In the event of more than 10 nominations an election will be held to determine the successful candidates.

Football Federation Tasmania is pleased to announce the make-up of the Womens Super League (WSL) for 2018. Following the 2017 season, the Board of FFT determined that they would invite a number of clubs to express their interest in participating in the competition; with the minimum requirement being the capacity to establish and maintain two distinct teams at senior level. The Board also determined that the league would consist of a maximum of 8 teams going forward. In addition, promotion and relegation would be immediately added for the upcoming season.
Football Federation Tasmania has announced the hiring of Tony Peart to the newly created position of Referee Development Manager. The 33 year old Englishmen joins the Federation after spending the past few seasons as a linesman in the English Championship, officiating in games with the likes of Socceroos stars Aaron Mooy, Massimo Luongo and Mile Jedinak.
After officiating in games as recently the November 3 game between Fulham and Wolves he has now made the move from England to Tasmania and has begun in his new role where he will oversee the refereeing department.

Football Federation Tasmania has today announced a five year plan to boost participation rates across the state.
The plan, which is consistent with the organisation’s vision, has been developed as part of the five year plan for Tasmania and has a strong focus on improving infrastructure.
Through infrastructure upgrades, the organisation believes steady growth will be accommodated, which will address the plan’s main aim to increase the number of registered players in Tasmania from the current 12,000 to 20,000 by the year 2023.

The draws for Preseason Cup competitions were conducted on Wednesday morning at KGV Football house. Group games in these Cup Competitions will be played between February 16 and March 11th, with the Cup Finals to be played on the weekend of March 17. Competition rosters will be released later on this week.
In addition to the Summer Cup, the Southern based NPL clubs, along with Glenorchy Knights, will be playing in a round robin Southern Summer Series competition. Each of the sides will play each other once, with the side on top at the end of the round robin crowned Summer Series champions.…
The draw for the Preliminary round of the Lakoseljac Cup has been drawn on Tuesday afternoon at KGV Football house.
Fixtures will be played on 5 March 2018, with the six winners progressing to the Round of 16.
The eight NPL Tasmania clubs as well as the Veto Southern/Northern Championship champions, Glenorchy Knights and Somerset were automatically seeded through to the next round.
Two of Tasmania's most promising youth players, Ewan Larby and Oliver Davis from South Hobart and Olympia Warriors have spent the past week training with the Melbourne City Under 20 group.
Each of the players trained well during the week and had the experience of playing an intra club game as part of their schedule, giving them the chance to impress the City coaching staff in match scenarios.

As a part of the FFT Coach Development activities in 2018 we will hold an FFA Advanced B licence course in Tasmania for the first time. The ‘B’ Licence is for coaches of Top Amateur, Elite Youth and State Teams who hold the FFA/ AFC ‘C’ Licence or have a recognised accepted UEFA ‘C’ or AFC ‘C’ Licence after completing Form 9.
This course is open to coaches 18 years of age and older focusing on the 11 v 11 aspects of the game. Candidates will be able to analyse football and apply the FFA Vision and Philosophy in the Game Training Model.

Due to maintenance being carried out on the KGV surface we have been advised that KGV ground will be closed for the next two weeks. FFT apologizes for the late notice however we were only advised of this by the council yesterday.
