A draft report was presented to the Board of Football Federation Tasmania for our consideration and we will now move to the next phase. This involves the engagement of some professional services to assist in the development of a strategic plan to go to the various parties within government to garner their support for infrastructure funding.
The key outtakes of the infrastructure review so far fall into four major categories from the general…

Last month Football Federation Tasmania assisted with the delivery of the Southern Primary School Sports Association Soccer Winter Carnival.
The carnival pitted Southern regions against each other in representative games that provided opportunities to players who may not have been involved in Club football previously and brought new players to the game.
To capitalise on the opportunities the event provided, there were two free Under 12 girls-only programs to follow. One was run by the Kingborough Lions Football Club and another at Edgeworth Street by FFT MiniRoos Manager Ben Horgan.

Our September Board meeting was primarily devoted to a review of the Women’s Super League in the past season and what structure is best going forward.
It may be worth recapping the progress to this stage. Our overall strategy has been built around complementing the work being done at junior and youth level by also building the women’s game from the top down - establishing a senior competition which provides additional coverage and profile for the sport and also allows for young players with ambition to aim at playing at a higher level in Tasmania than existed previously. At…

FFT will be running a Skill Training Certificate course hosted by Kingborough Lions at Lightwood Park on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of December 2017. Suitable for all coaches working with players aged 9-13, this will be a great opportunity in particular for any senior players in clubs who are looking to coach junior/youth teams or in Skill Acquisition Phase programs next year. Other courses will be scheduled in early 2018, but as they often clash with pre-season practice games or Summer Cup at that time of year, this is likely to be the most convenient opportunity for many coaches who also…
