Football Federation Tasmania is pleased to announce a full standalone version of the Women's Super League it set to be implemented for the 2017 season with a view of moving to a full WNPL TAS competition in 2018. The FFT Board is currently in discussions with Football Federation Australia’s General Manager of Women’s Football, Sarah Walsh, regarding eligibility requirements for clubs to participate in such a competition.

For coaches working with players aged 9-13 who are ready to make the next step, there is a Skill Training Certificate course scheduled on the 4th and 5th of February to be held at Lightwood Park, Kingston.
The course focuses on the four core skills within the Skill Acquisition Phase; First Touch, 1v1, Running with the Ball and Striking the ball. This is a practical course with learning done on the field. The cost will be $100.

Football Federation Tasmania seeks applications from interested parties for the above role. In principle the role is to co-ordinate the development and training of referees in Southern Tasmania as well as working in partnership with the Referee Technical Committee and FFT’s Competition Manager. This position will be casual with the number of hours to be agreed, but as a guide this may be in the range of 10-14 hours per week during the course of the season.

The Member Federations of Football Federation Australia met with FFA Chairman Steven Lowy and Chief Executive David Gallop in Sydney yesterday (13th February) to discuss expansion of the sport’s Congress.
Member Federations currently occupy nine positions on the 10 member congress, with a representative of the Hyundai A-League clubs as the 10th member. As such, the Member Federations play a key role in the governance of football in this country.
Member Federations came to the meeting with a view that the time is right to expand the Congress. FFA expressed the same view.

Football Federation Tasmania will be holding a MiniRoos for Girls Festival for Female Football Week on Sunday the 12th of March 2017 at KGV Football Park, Glenorchy, 1:00pm to 2:00pm.
The Festival will be part of the Women's Summer Cup Grand Final Day.
On Thursday the 2nd and Friday the 3rd of February a group of 45 young people aged between 15-24 years from refugee backgrounds attended the Migrant Reasource Centre’s ‘Camp of Courage’ at The Lea Scout Centre.
The Camp of Courage was a two day program organised by young people for young people. The camp focus was on the themes of : independence, mastery, generosity and belonging.
