The Olympia Warriors have moved into second place on the MyState Women's Super League, leapfrogging Launceston United with a 3-1 win at Warrior Park. The home side snuck ahead with a stunning strike from Innocent Michael just before half-time before goals to Mia Cane and Meghan Goscombe sealed the result in the second half.
Despite playing on the road and in icy conditions, Launceston started brightly and spent plenty of time forward in the first ten minutes. They struggled to convert their possession into shots on goal, though, and the danger of Olympia on the counter attack was evident. A…

South Hobart have suffered their first loss of the NPL Tasmania season with a 2-0 defeat to the Devonport Strikers at Darcy Street. The visitors had the better of the play for the majority of the game and finally found their reward when Brody Denehey's header found the back of the net with 15 minutes left. South pushed hard for an equaliser before a late red card to goalkeeper Nicholas O'Connell sapped their momentum, allowing the Strikers to seal their win with a stoppage-time goal from Jordan Lamb.
Away from home and with a typically raucous Darcy Street crowd against them, the Strikers…

United had one foot in second place on the table when Elodie Gray gave them an early lead, but goals to Renske Rombouts and Jazmin White either side of half-time saw the Strikers steal a win away from home.
It took just seven minutes for the hosts to take an early lead, and it was their wingers on both flanks that combined to open the scoring. A 50-50 contest on the halfway line spilled into their attacking half and Jess McCallum-Smith…

The Olympia Warriors have claimed a gritty 1-0 win over arch-rivals Clarence Zebras at Warrior Park, courtesy of a lone Madi Chambers goal.
From the get-go, both teams were more than happy to sit back and let the opposition work their way forward. Chambers and Mia Cane worked tirelessly on the flanks, but Taylor Rand and Selina Steventon stood firm for the Zebras.
Chambers opened the scoring before the break after displaying some great footwork. Darting past a Zebras defence that was looking strong, she hit her shot true into the bottom corner past veteran…

The Clarence Zebras have made an emphatic statement in the MyState Women's Super League, defeating the defending champions, the Olympia Warriors, 6-1 at Wentworth Park. That emphatically reversed the result from just one week ago, when the Warriors knocked them out of the Statewide Cup.
Warriors winger Madi Chambers set up the first goal of the game in the opening minutes for Mia Cane. Chambers worked her way up the left flank to feed in Cane, who calmly tapped a shot past Zebras goalkeeper keeper Shelley Cook for the early lead.
