Independent MP Andrew Wilkie has secured $1 million from the Federal Government to help transform the home for the Glenorchy Knights Football Club at KGV in an exciting redevelopment project.
The project will involve the purchase and upgrading of the current clubhouse building, with the construction of a new viewing area for all football spectators to enjoy, a function room, office space as well as fully upgraded kitchen, kiosk and bar facilities to transform the building.

Football Federation Tasmania is pleased to introduce our new Women's Development Officer, Debra Banks.
Originally from Wales, Debra joins FFT with a background in Sports Science, having worked with professional athletes in previous roles and having participated at the elite level in swimming herself. Most recently she has been working with the Asthma Foundation of Tasmania after moving to the state in 2012. Debra will bring a wealth of experience to the role and she has expressed her desire to help take the Women's game to the next level in the State.
2019 is shaping up as the most exciting NPL season yet with new teams, new time-slots and extra games to provide the public with more opportunity than ever before to catch the action.
The season will be played across 27 rounds, running from March 1st to September 7th with each team playing 24 matches, 12 each home and away, with three byes.
The roster features, more night games, more marquee days and less simultaneous kickoffs in a bid to maximise the exposure and opportunities for fans to attend and follow the games.

Football Federation Tasmania has welcomed the launch of Tasmania’s first sports voucher system, Ticket to Play, as an exciting opportunity for more junior players to get involved in the World Game.
The Ticket to Play initiative will allow eligible children and young people aged 5 to 17, access to vouchers of up to $100 to go towards sporting memberships and registration fees. Children or Parents who are listed on a valid Centrelink Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, or are in Out of Home Care, are eligible for the program.
Valley Road will be filled with the sight of hundreds of children playing football this weekend as Valley Road once again plays host to the 2019 National SAP festival.
The event, which will showcase some of the best under 12 and 13 players in the country, will feature teams from around Australia in three days of nonstop footballing action taking place from Friday 15 February to Sunday 17 February.

The 2019 senior preseason is underway as the first matchday of the group stage took place at KGV on Saturday.
South Hobart made a strong start to the season, as a second half surge saw them overcome Taroona in the opening game of the day. After a 3 year exile, the Glenorchy Knights are set to return to State's top division, having won promotion back to the NPL TAS for the 2019 season. And they will be sporting a new look as they make their return, having today unveiled the new look logo that they will be adopting.
