Both of these sides will be looking to find their balance after a slight wobble in the last round of league fixtures. The Strikers managed to grab a last-gasp draw against Kingborough, but that result still saw them drop their first points of the season and kept the door…
Olympia have continued their recent revival of form downing Riverside 3-1 at Windsor Park on Saturday.
Goals from Hill, Yost and Vandermey cancelled Tom Prince’s header, in what may prove to be an important result as the team adapts to the loss of both Andrew Brown and Jack Ryan.
The game kicked off at an overcast Windsor Park with corner after corner for the visiting side.
The Warriors won six corners in under five minutes to start the game but failed to create any solid chances from them. This lack of finishing almost cost the visitors with Nil Sanz just…
One round removed from their first slip-up of the season, the Devonport Strikers were back at their clinical best in a 4-1 win over South Hobart.
While the contest was much more even than the scoreline might suggest, some tidy finishing at one end combined with the continued excellence of goalkeeper Nathan Pitchford ensured the result was never in doubt. With veteran goalscorer Miles Barnard named on the bench, it would have been fair to wonder where the goals might come from for the Strikers. They responded with their highest scoring game of the year on the road, led by a brace and a superb…

Glenorchy Knights have cruised to a 3-0 win away from home over the lowly Clarence Zebras on a frosty night at Wentworth Park. With a goal in each half, Alex Walter picked up a tidy brace while Oscar Thomas rounded things off to keep up the pressure on the league leaders Devonport.
The Zebras' defence was caught out within seconds of kickoff. The dangerous Walter stormed into the box but his efforts was blocked away and in the process it really…
Adam Mckeown moved atop the NPL goal scoring charts as he scored a brace and secured a late 2-1 victory for his Kingborough Lions side over Launceston City. The wily veteran struck twice in the second half, including an 86th minute winner as the Lions rallied back from a goal down, having trailed to a stunning opening goal from Samuel Ridgard which had handed City the early lead.
Influential Englishmen, Samuel Ridgard fired his side into the lead against the run of play on 27 minutes when he took one touch to control before volleying home from outside the box for a stunning goal.
Led by hat-tricks from Laura Davis and Kate Bonertz-Benn, the Kingborough Lions saw off a brief challenge to record an emphatic 8-2 win over University at Olinda Grove on Sunday.
Uni recovered from an early three-goal deficit, scoring twice just before half time to keep the contest alive. That resurgence was short-lived, though, as the Lions pulled away after the break to remove any doubt about the result. Davis and Bonertz-Benn were the stars, and a goal-of-the-year contender from Isabelle de Smit was the icing on the cake for Simon Edwards' side as they put some distance between themselves…
A lone goal from Bonnie Davies was enough for the Olympia Warriors to reclaim top spot on the Women's Super League table as they registered a 1-0 win over Clarence Zebras. Davies slipped clear of Zara Dixon to fire her side into the lead in the first half for what would prove the only goal of the game, in a match the Warriors were good value for all three points, and that they could well have won by a wider margin.
Without taking too many risks, both sides adjusted their starting lineup with the one change each. Hannah Johnson slotting into right back, replacing Charlotte Chambers was…
A brace to Mikhalha George and goals from Eli Cropp and Lucy Reimer helped fire Ulverstone Soccer Club to a big 4-1 road victory over South Hobart in their Sunday Super League clash. Bridie Cooling pulled back a late consolation goal for the hosts, but it was Ulverstone who were far too strong on the day as they solidified themselves in third and opened up a five point gap to South in fourth place.

2020 record:
Devonport: 7-1-0 (first in NPL TAS)
Riverside: 1-2-5 (seventh in NPL TAS)

It’s a daunting trip to Valley Road for Riverside Olympic, as they meet the league leaders on the back of four losses in their last five games. The one result in that time, a draw with the Zebras, was a real opportunity missed to claw their way away from the foot of the table. Giving up three goals in that game was typical of their season—even when…
It was far from a walk in the park, but the Devonport Strikers maintained their lead at the top of the NPL Tasmania table with a 1-0 win over Riverside Olympic at Valley Road.
The matchup between the state's two best goalkeepers lived up to its billing, with a second-half Raph Reynolds penalty all that could separate the two sides. Riverside gloveman Jarrod Hill looked unlikely to be beaten in any other fashion, while his Strikers counterpart Nathan Pitchford was as reliable as ever in tallying another clean sheet. Devonport dominated the play for much of the…
The Clarence Zebras produced a second half masterclass to overcome Ulverstone 6-0 in their Round 9 clash. A closely contested first 45 minutes was forgotten after the break, with Allie Berry scoring four times and Zoe Nichols and Isabella Ferrier also both finding a spot on the goal sheet. Despite less wind than usual at Wentworth Park, all the goals were scored with its advantage.
Returning and injured players saw Clarence Zebra shuffle the deck a little up front. The match winning shift saw Berry and Nichols switch roles, as Danielle Kannegiesser returned to the fold. Ulverstone welcomed…
A dominant performance from Alex Walter helped the Glenorchy Knights to a statement 7-0 win over Kingborough at KGV on Saturday.
A hat-trick from Walter coupled with a brace from teammate Connor Schmidt underlined the rampant victory, with Kingborough’s Davis Bryan’s first half red card proving to be a key moment in the contest.
The game kicked off with a scrappy start, with neither side able to hold on to the ball for a significant period of time. Kingborough had a couple of attacks down their right wing, before the Knights started to control the game. In the 11th minute Cade Smith and…
They were made to work for it, but South Hobart climbed to third on the NPL Tasmania table with a 3-1 win over Launceston City at Buckby Landrover Park.
Kasper Hallam was the star scoring all three goals for the visitors, and South could have easily won by a larger margin as they dominated the play from start to finish. The hosts hung in grimly and pulled back a goal through Josh Bula, but the class of South's senior players and the finishing of Hallam shone through against a less experienced opponent. The final 20-4 shot count, as well as South's 14 corners, tell the story of a game that…
Clarence Zebras once again have claimed Eastern Shore bragging rights, as they downed Olympia 2-1 at Warrior Park in Saturday night's Derby. Headed goals from Huigsloot and Little secured the victory as the Zebras made it 2 from 2 in season 2020 over their neighbours
Some crafty play from out on the right by Samson Juju gave the visitors the lead when his cross set up a clear headed chance for Luke Huigsloot at the back post in the 17th minute. Randall got a piece of it, but the ball looped to the big frontman who duly nodded home.
The lead lasted just 10 minutes…
Despite playing with 10 players for 75 minutes of the match, the Olympia F.C. Warriors have reclaimed top spot on the Super League table with a convincing 6-1 win over University. The Warriors were thrown a curve ball following Hannah Johnson's 15th minute red card, but with Madi Chambers and Bonnie Davies picking up braces, they shrugged off the numerical disadvantage to claim a comfortable victory.
The Warriors took the lead on 12 minutes when Olivia Bomford produced a sumptuous through ball for Madi Chambers to run onto who placed home into the far corner.
South Hobart moved within striking distance of third place on the table as they downed the Kingborough Lions 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Darcy Street. Two goals in the space of two first half minutes, coming from Eliane Fader and Misty Olsen set up the victory and despite Laura Davis continuing her recent good scoring form to pull one back for the Lions, Isabella Declerck made sure of the result with her goal 8 minutes from full time.
A familiar Kingborough starting XI hit the field, with Eva Edwards and Airlee Lawson again tasked at the heart of defence, and Davis leading the line in attack…
