The Olympia Warriors produced an emphatic performance at Lightwood Park on Sunday as they cruised to a massive 6-0 victory over the Kingborough Lions to make it two wins from two Super League Games to start the season.
The Warriors got off to a fast start as a heavy touch from the Lions keeper Erika Mackintosh let in Bonnie Davies who pounced and fired the Warriors ahead with the games first shot.
That lead was almost erased soon thereafter if not for a strong save from Jenna Farrow to keep out a powerful Laura Davis shot, in what would prove a rare occasion where the Lions star striker was…

RB- Isabella Ferrier (Clarence Zebras)
Played the first 45 minutes at full back before switching into a more attacking role in the second half where she scored a lovely goal from outside the box.
CB- Olivia Young (University)
A calming presence at the back, Young was solid in cleaning everything up at the back and she had no shortage of work to do as Ulverstone did the bulk of the…

RB- Connor Parke (Devonport Strikers)
Opened the scoring with a well taken diving header and defended his flank well throughout the contest.

The Zebras skipper showed his strong leadership with an all action display at the back, bursting through midfield at times and scrambling across to make numerous key blocks and tackles.
Extra fuel is set to be added to Saturday's first Launceston Derby of the NPL Tasmania season with the inception of the Guardian Pharmacies Challenge Cup, with the new sponsor on board to provide an extra incentive in the form of silverware.
The Cup will be played for each time Riverside Olympic and Launceston City play in the NPL Tasmania from now on and it promises to add an extra element to an already burgeoning rivalry between the two sides that has developed nicely since Riverside's promotion to the NPL in 2019.
A similar concept was used previously to great success when…

The Glenorchy Knights produced an emphatic performance to down South Hobart 3-1 at Darcy Street on Saturday afternoon.
The return of a number of ex-South players was met with hostility from the home faithful, however it was the Knights who had the last laugh. Goals to Bellini, Schmidt and Walter proved to be enough for the visitors, with a Kasper Hallam strike the only one on the scorecard for the home side.
As soon as the game kicked off it was clear the Knights were ready to play and it was not long before they were creating chances. In the third minute, Alessandro Bellini played a…
Substitute Aaaron Kidmas made himself the Derby Day hero for Riverside Olympic as he pounced upon a loose rebound sitting in the box and fired home on 87 minutes to sink Launceston City and secure a 2-1 win for the visitors. Earlier, Matt Spanos had handed Riverside the lead before Samuel Ridgard made it 4 consecutive games with a goal to level things up setting the stage for Kidmas's dramatic late winner.
Riverside started the sharper and had looked the more likely side to score, Fletcher Fulton came close drawing a good save from Nash, as the visitors…
The Olympia FC Warriors have cruised to a resounding 4-0 win over Ulverstone at Warrior Park in their Round 3 Women's Super League clash. The home side looked in control for most the day and were rarely troubled as they replicated the scoreline from their Statewide Cup game 3 weeks prior.
Bonnie Davies opened the scoring for the home side in the 7th minute when she was played through one on one with keeper Georgia Anderson. Davies was able to skip around Anderson and then finished cooly into an open net.

The Devonport Strikers have continued their perfect start to the 2020 NPL season, making it 3 wins from 3 games as they accounted for the Olympia Warriors 3-2 at Valley Road. A brace from Brody Denehey after Miles Barnard had opened the scoring did the damage for the hosts, as they did enough to hold on despite both of the Brown twins finding their way onto the score sheet.
Joel Stone tested the Warriors early in the game with a long range shot and some teasing set pieces, but it was the Warriors with the first clear cut chance when…
The Kingborough Lions have continued their undefeated start to the 2020 season, as they edged out the Clarence Zebras 2-1 at Wentworth Park. A stunning bicycle kick goal from Adam Mckeown sent them on their way and a Danny Cowen goal in the second half would then secure the win.
The former Zebras striker McKeown didn't take long to come back to haunt them as he produced a goal of the season contender. Chris Downes swung in the set piece and McKeown picked it right on the volley and landed his shot into the bottom right in a moment of pure inspiration.
South Hobart have claimed their first win of the Women's Super League season, flexing their muscles in an impressive 4-1 victory against University.
In blustery conditions atop Mount Nelson, it was the visitors that adjusted best with a clinical display of passing across every inch of the ground. South thoroughly dominated the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break, and while University fought gamely and pulled back a goal after the restart, a quickfire brace from substitute Phoebe Djakic put the result beyond doubt. After struggling last season amidst a never-ending injury crisis,…
The Clarence Zebras have picked up a routine win against Kingborough Lions at Wentworth park on Sunday. A youthful Lions outfit struggled to gain traction from the opening whistle, after conceding early and from there the Zebas did it easy, with the late goal conceded not enough to truly threaten the home side.
A bright opening by the Zebras found early success when Stacey Burdack won a penalty after being sandwiched in the box, as trouble reared its head early for the Lions. The duty of the centre backs at Clarence is to take penalties, with this opportunity gifted to Madi O’Brien. Making…

Form can sometimes matter little when it comes down to the road trip to Ulverstone. Three straight wins in comfortable fashion, means no-one can deny the Clarence Zebras aren’t in fine patch of form. Ulverstone will be out to throw a spanner in the works, with the matter of finding an opening season victory in front of…

The two most successful teams in the modern statewide league look set for another blockbuster this weekend. After starting the season with three wins in as many tries, the Strikers will look to charge ahead of the pack as they host South Hobart in round four. The defending champions have barely put a foot wrong in their title defence thus far—the…
The Kingborough Lions have continued their impressive start to the 2020 NPL season, cruising to a 2-0 win against Launceston City to remain undefeated after four rounds.
The margin could have easily been greater, as the Lions were barely troubled at Lightwood Park. They took the lead through Adam McKeown just before the half-hour mark, and a James Hall strike in the opening moments of the second half gave them plenty of breathing room. An 18-2 final shot count told the story of the game, as Kingborough's defence were fantastic throughout and fuelled countless attacking plays from the back.…
