Welcome to the Weekend Wash-up for another week as we recap all of the action from the penultimate round of the McDonalds NPL Tasmania.
It was a weekend that began with a bit of a surprise, as Olympia downed the Glenorchy Knights 3-1 on the Friday Night before regular programming resumed on Saturday with the Strikers downing Riverside 4-0 to extend their winning streak. The Lions produced a fine display to score a thumping 3-0 win over Launceston City which temporarily moved them into second, but they were displaced on Sunday by South Hobart, who fought hard to overcome a valiant…
Welcome to the Friday Forecast for the final time this season as we reach the last weekend of the 2022 MyState Bank Women’s Super League.
Heading into the final round we have a reasonably clear picture of how things are set to end up, with five of the final seven finishing positions now locked in. Only third and fourth positions can be switched and that’s only if the Zebras can upend the Strikers by three goals in their match. Launceston United have officially won the title and so the pressure is off as they take on an Olympia side resigned to a last-placed finish whilst the final game…

We headed into the final weekend of the year with things largely settled. The only ladder position still up for grabs was the Lions pursuit of South Hobart in second place.
