In the first Feature Match of the Round for 2024, the defending Champion's Devonport opened up their title defence with a comfortable 3-0 win over a youthful Clarence side. Japanse import Riku Ichimura caught the eye with his silky dribbling skills and he also bagged a brace from the spot. For the Zebras Mitch Higgins made some impressive saves in net as they battled away in a commendable performance but the Strikers pressure eventually overwhelmed the young Zebras outfit.
Launceston United began their season with a victory on home soil but were pushed all the way by the Glenorchy Knights in their WSL debut. After a cagey first half that was largely devoid of scoring chances, the game exploded into life in the second half. Twice the Knights fought back to equalise from deficit, and almost cancelled out Olivia Smith's eventual match-winner only for Jazlin Venn to stand up and make a big save at the death to secure the win for her side.

The Kingborough Lions bounced back from an opening-day disappointment by pummelling Riverside Olympic 8-1 at Lightwood Park. Captain Kobe Kemp was completely unplayable at times and scored four goals in a superb individual display, as the Lions routed the visitors in a one-sided affair. This was the Lions playing in much the same manner as they ended 2023, when they were the form side of the competition across the final two months.
Laura Davis continued her blistering run of form, scoring a hat-trick in Kingborough's big 6-0 win over Riverside Olympic. The competition newcomers had some chances early on but they couldn't find a way past Josie Rose in the Lions net. As the game wore on, the home side took complete control of the contest and had the game wrapped up by the hour mark in a dominant performance that showcased the array of attacking talent at Cameron Heazlewood's disposal.
